This amendment to the basic standard defines the Classic Bully based on its body structure and build. Both male and female dogs have lighter body frames and less overall body mass, while still exhibiting distinct “bully” traits.
Examples of Bully Traits include:
- Blocky, heavy heads
- Short, square muzzles
- Heavier bone structure, muscle, and a compact body
The Classic Bully has more bone and substance than the modern, more “terrier type” American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier. It is intended to give the appearance of a bulkier, old-style American Pit Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier, which were part of the origins of the American Bully.
The Classic Bully variety is essentially an American Bully dog with a lighter body frame (lighter bone) and less overall body mass (less substance) than the Standard American Bully. Apart from this difference, the Classic Bully adheres to the same standard as the Standard American Bully.
