Renowned Breeder and Handler Richard Keizer Brings Decades of Expertise to the EBKC Judging Panel
Richard Keizer, a lifelong dog enthusiast from the Netherlands, brings decades of experience and passion to the European Bully Kennel Club (EBKC). His journey with dogs began at the age of four, growing up with Golden Retrievers, a breed that shaped his early love for animals.
After overcoming childhood asthma, Richard’s family welcomed another Golden Retriever named Pasya, followed by Dusya, both of whom left a lasting imprint on his life. This early bond with dogs ignited his dedication to canine companionship and care.
As Richard’s interests evolved, he fell in love with the Dogue de Bordeaux breed. After extensive research, he acquired Femmy, a daughter of the legendary Enferno van de Paterhoek. This marked the start of his deep dive into the breed’s history and bloodlines. Over time, Richard built a strong reputation as a dedicated breeder, producing exceptional litters and competing in both national and international dog shows, including FCI championships. His dogs achieved championship titles in multiple countries, earning widespread recognition for their quality and presentation under his kennel name “WIKI Bordeaux’
Richard expanded his expertise to the American Bully breed, working as a breeder and kennel partner with the renowned Dynamight Kennels. Together, they produced high-quality American Bullies who excelled in conformation and temperament, further establishing his prominence within the bully breed community.
Richard also played a key role in handling the EBKC Grand Champion Milo, who achieved the prestigious title of EBKC Top Dog for two consecutive years. This accomplishment highlights his exceptional handler skills and dedication to excellence in the show ring.
In 2018, Richard demonstrated his leadership within the bully breed community by organizing a highly successful dog show in Belgium. The event brought together enthusiasts from across the region and underscored his commitment to promoting the highest standards of breeding and showmanship.
Throughout his career, Richard has formed lasting friendships with prominent breeders from renowned kennels such as Van de Paterhoek, Emberez, Tyranus Kennels, Bakervills Style, and De la Maison du Hollande. These relationships have enriched his knowledge and reinforced his commitment to excellence.
In addition to his breeding and handling expertise, Richard is passionate about presenting dogs in the ring, emphasizing the importance of both the handler’s and dog’s presentation.
Outside the canine world, Richard is a successful entrepreneur, running two businesses—one specializing in dog food and the other in infrastructure works. Balancing his professional life with his hobbies, he enjoys bodybuilding, tattoos, custom cars, and spending quality time with his dogs.
Richard’s wealth of experience, dedication to the bully breed community, and passion for dogs make him a valuable addition to the EBKC judging panel. Richard will be making his debut at the EBKC SHOW ITALY 2025 – BULLY RODEO on Saturday 29th March 2025 at the Cowboy’s Guest Ranch in Voghera, Italy.
